Sr. International Tax Manager (HNW) for LAW firm at Marcum Search

Marcum Search has been engaged by our client, a boutique law firm located in NYC, specializing in high net international tax clients. They are seeking a Tax Supervisor/Manager to join their growing team. Clients include foreign investors with US investments which include real estate investments, stocks, bonds, funds, commercial properties and US businesses as well as US nationals with offshore funds, foreign trusts, and investment vehicles.

Responsibilities of this role include preparing client’s high-net worth individual returns as well as US corporate, partnership, international business, trust, estate, and state/local returns. This person prepares complex returns and guides a team of 5 preparers. They will also work closely with knowledgeable tax attorneys on planning. The person in this role will also need to be knowledgeable on international and state and local tax issues as well as the differences between active and passive income to minimalize tax burden and minimize state and local effects.

The individual MUST have knowledge of Federal forms 3520-A, 3520, 8938, 5471, 8621 and FinCen Form 114 (FBAR); as well as experience reporting for foreign trusts and individuals. Some of the trusts are in the multi-billion dollar range.
