Located in Beverly, MA Microchips FTD division is seeking a Logistics Specialist/Coordinator that has Domestic and International freight forwarding experience.
Experience with 3 rd party software for freight payment, bookings, tracking and claims.
Experience in negotiating freight rates for domestic, international, small package, heavy weight freight
Experience in producing and providing Domestic and International Freight quotes when needed.
Experience and knowledge of the use of the Harmonized Tariff, and Schedule B Tariff of the United States
Compliance with hazardous material shipping regulations (DOT & IATA) and customer routing guidesexpedites as required. (Pre-Certified is a plus)
Experience in Import Compliance auditing. (Customs Import/Export documentation audits).
Maintain Corporate Regulatory, Import, and Export Compliance.
Generate and archive international documentation required for exports. Familiar with proper use of Incoterms and experience filing AES.
Review of inbound and outbound shipments for discrepancies and inaccuracies (piece count, part number validation, etc.).
Responsible to arrange for pickup by the freight carriers specified on the customer's purchase order. This includes Domestic and International Shipment, Hazmat Material, and Special Needs product (Example Hazmat product into Asia with Air Ride, Temp Control, Time Sensitivity Requirements)
Responsible for UN Packaging Certifications
Resolution of shipping related issues through MIcrochips TrackIt system. (Quotes/ECCN/HTS/Country of Origin/traffic issues)
Participate in cross-functional teams devoted to efficiency, cost-reduction, inventory reduction, inventory turns, and quality.
Monitor key indicators to ensure achievement of goals.
Must be able to recognize problem areas and implement corrective solutions.
Other projects, duties, or cross-training responsibilities as assigned.
Experience with Import/Export Compliance procedures
Knowledge of and experience in completing and providing Domestic and International Freight quotes.
Knowledge of and the use of The Harmonized Tariff System and the Schedule B Tariff of the United States (Licensed Broker Preferred or 5+ years experience).
Knowledge of the EAR (Export Administration Regulations) and ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of the organization, Contracted Freight Forwarders, Customs Brokers, Express carriers, and Trucking companies.
Minimum 5 years experience completing Bills of Lading, Export Documentation and various forms used by major freight carriers.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with minimum supervision.
5 + years of industry experience in warehousing / shipping/receiving / distribution.
Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite ERP system a plus.
HazMat (IATA and DOT) certifications or ability to achieve.
Minimum 5 years working knowledge of UPS and FedEx online shipping system.
Excellent written communication skills using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
Work well under pressure and daily deadlines.
Highly motivated and willing to work flexible work hours to accommodate business needs.
HS Diploma or equivalent experience.
