Natchaug Hospital seeks a full-time Staff Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide direct patient services including admissions, intake evaluations, psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy as well as to provide occasional adult substance abuse services on an as-needed basis. The Psychiatrist serves as consultant within a multidisciplinary team, provides treatment recommendations, coordinates the patients care with internal and external stakeholders, monitors risk and follows all other duties as prescribed in the Medical Staff regulations and in accordance with accepted standards of practice.
The primary work location for this position is Norwich, Connecticut but this position also requires travel on an as-needed basis based on patient demand /need to Vernon, Dayville, Mansfield Center, Groton, Enfield, Danielson, Old Saybrook and Willimantic, Connecticut.
The minimum requirements for this position is a MD or DO degree or their equivalent, successful completion of an Accredited Council of Graduate Medical Education residency training program in Psychiatry, two years of experience in adolescent or child evaluation services, board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, eligibility for participation in federal health care programs as defined in 42 U.S.C. Sec. 1320a-7b(f), eligibility for or possession of a Connecticut Medical and Controlled Substances Registration licenses and successful completion of a competency-based interview.
