Summary of Role:
This requirement is for the ‘Staff Data Steward- Onshore’ role.
Working as a Data Steward, you are responsible to Maintain / Update Governance repositories & controls that allow data to be understood, trusted, accessible, and secured for the business, Review all Solution Design for Approval to ensure MDM Rules are followed, data quality and accuracy are ensured, information extracted in reporting meets business needs and Serves as the business and technical subject-matter expert on data or information assets.This role is based out of our Onsite Malta, NY Campus.
Recommend and implement data framework guidelines related to data definitions, usage, sources, and quality standards
Manage the content of the data dictionary and business glossary
Ensure the relevance and accuracy of the data dictionary by updating it to reflect changes in business and technology
Track important data management metrics in the data governance scorecard against quality standards
Collaborate with internal partners to resolve data integrity issues
Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities related to data governance.
Use interpersonal skills to partner with business-embedded data stewards to work with IT to resolve data quality issues.
Documentation around governance & controls for audits
Work with various stakeholder groups, ensuring that business requirements are captured and met
Maintaining and executing SQL against both structured and unstructured data sets
Track work and provide updates in project management tools
Directly work with the ETL Engineers and Data Analysts to communicate and define reporting requirements
Perform all activities in a safe & responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Minimum 8 years of Experience in Data Governance or any similar Master data role
Past experience working as Data Governance Analyst at a Staff or equivalent level
Good communication skills (includes oral & written)
Language Fluency – English
Good analytical skills are a MUST required qualification for this role.
Intermediate knowledge of SQL (or any query language)
Experience visualizing data with Power BI (or similar software)
Ability to quickly build relationships with department and other stakeholders
Aptitude for meaningful interpretation and application of data for the purpose of process improvement
Must have a proactive, collaborative approach to problem solving
Ability to work autonomously and apply problem-solving skills
Ability to work with a sense of urgency and prioritize in a deadline driven environment
Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships
