Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is located on Florida’s Emerald Coast between Pensacola and Panama City, eight miles east of Destin. The 2,400-acre Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the premier destination in Northwest Florida.
The Stewarding Supervisor must have experience in Stewarding and working/closing Food and Beverage kitchens. This position will lead a team every day in cleanliness, organization and maintaining equipment. The Supervisors will primarily be working PM shifts and covering AM shifts occasionally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Able to train and supervise fellow employees in a professional manner with fairness.
- Check all kitchens for cleanliness (check night cleaners work, under the kitchen line, equipment, corners, hallways, floors, etc.)
- Check all paper towel dispensers, making sure they are full as well as soap in dispensers.
- Working with fellow Stewards on dish machine and assisting them in any way you can.
- Check and if needed, clean all loading docks and outside areas.
- Check all hot-box’s and speed racks periodically for cleanliness. If dirty, clean yourself or give steward to clean.
- If not busy on dish machine, transport any equipment from Baytowne to Main kitchen for culinary. Bowls, platters, pans, speed racks, etc.
- Make sure all Stewards, as well as themselves, are not working and keeping busy at all times, unless otherwise on break.
- Check all Stewards work before they leave, ensuring that work areas are clean, organized and everything is put away in the proper place at the end of their shift.
- Must be able to life between 40-50 pounds.
- Always maintaining a professional manner and leading by example.
- Knowing and actively practicing the Resort’s safety guidelines.
- Must teach, know and learn all chemicals used in the Department, using them in the proper fashion and showing employee’s how to use them in a proper way.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in Stewarding and working/closing
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is open and operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.
