Market Research Analyst Intern Job Description
The Market Research Intern will gain experience with both primary and secondary research, and will proactively identify opportunities for research and insights. They will be able to utilize competitive intelligence methods to research competitive business practices, analyze retail/credit industry trends, compile and present summary reports and make recommendations. They can also design, analyze and present both quantitative and qualitative market research projects in support of both external brand partners as well as internal departments to help guide tactical and strategic decision-making. They will have frequent interaction with internal partners as well as external brand partners.
Assist in primary and secondary research studies. Define objectives of study, determine methodology, conduct research and analyze results. Present research findings to internal and external brand partners.
Research and compile competitive intelligence insights/reports. Identify key trends within retail/credit industries, determine relevance to various audiences, and summarize and present findings to internal and external brand partners.
Track industry competitive trends and marketing efforts. Maintain industry and competitive monitoring processes within the department. Identify key trends relevant to various areas of the business and report out to internal and external parties when necessary Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma with at least TWO years of undergraduate work completed towards Marketing, Operations, Market Research related field or equivalent experience.
Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and presentation skills
Strong interest in consumer behavior and market place dynamics
Experience with secondary research and competitive intelligence methods
General understanding of a variety of both qualitative and quantitative research formats and their practical applications
Ability to work both independently and with various work teams
At least intermediate skills with Word, Excel and Power Point
Experience in retail and/or consumer finance or credit services is a plus
