AquaSafe will make arrangements for individuals or groups of friends to live/work near major East Coast cities including the D.C. Metro Area, Philadelphia, PA, Harrisburg, PA. Baltimore, MD, and Wilmington, DE and more. Training through the American Red Cross will be provided prior to the start of the season. AquaSafe arranges trips to famous destinations such as New York City; Ocean City, MD; Atlantic City, NJ and Niagara Falls as well as fun contests and events throughout the Summer, including a Soccer Tournament, Summer Olympics, Video Contests and more!

Lifeguard Job Description
Lifeguarding is the BEST SUMMER JOB! Lifeguarding is the ideal job for a healthy lifestyle! You get to stay fit, be out in the fresh air all day instead of being inside, plus, you get a free tan! You have the opportunity of making new friends and meeting other Lifeguards. While it is fun, Lifeguarding must be taken very seriously, because someone's life might depend on YOU!
A Lifeguard's primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of patrons at an assigned aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing all pool rules fairly and consistently. Lifeguards are also responsible for reporting any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to their Supervisor. Lifeguards ensure proper pool water chemicals, record keeping and maintaining a clean and enjoyable aquatics facility.
Experienced, motivated Lifeguards who demonstrate excellent customer service, organizational and leadership skills may be considered as a Pool Manager, with the opportunity for more responsibility and higher pay. Interest in the Pool Manager position and further explanation of the responsibilities can be discussed in your interview.
AquaSafe Pools teaches and encourages the Lifeguarding / managing skills that will help you outside of the Lifeguard / Pool Manager position, such as:
*Response and Rescue
*Lifeguards must be available to arrive at our corporate office in Hanover, MD by Monday, May 18th to attend a 4-day Lifeguard training
*Lifeguards must be a minimum of 18 years of age by date of arrival
*Lifeguards MUST be able to work Memorial Day weekend, the 4th of July and Labor Day weekend (May 23rd through September 7th)
*Lifeguards must be able to work ALL WEEKENDS throughout the Summer
*Lifeguards must conduct themselves in a professional manner and must be attentive and focused
*Lifeguards must be able to attend and pass the 4-day American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certifications before the start of the season
*To be eligible to participate in AquaSafe Lifeguarding Program employees must meet the following Lifeguard Prerequisites as determined by the American Red Cross:
- Be able to attend all training classes which are approximately thirty (25-32) hours;
- Be able to swim 300 yards continuously (without stopping) demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Please note: Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed.
- Be able to complete the following timed event (within 1 minute, 40 seconds): starting in the water swim 20 yards; surface dive to the depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object and return it to the surface and swim back to the starting point (wearing goggles is not allowed). Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
- Be able to tread water for 2 minutes without using their arms and without stopping.
*Our Lifeguards earn an average of $7,000 over the course of the Summer

Lifeguard Job Dates:May 23, 2020 - September 7, 2020
Typical work week:5-6 days/week, 8-10 hours per day
At least40 hours averageper week guaranteed
Pay rate:$10.50-$13.50/h (depending on experience)
