Summary/Primary Purpose: Assist the Camp Director in the overall care and maintenance of camp buildings and infrastructure.
This position is a Temporary Full-Time position from 5/29/19 - 7/29/19.
Must live on the grounds of Gene Eppley Camp for the duration of employment.
Position may start as early as May 2nd and continue into August.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- General maintenance duties as assigned by the
- Assist in upkeep of plumbing.
- Assist in upkeep of electrical.
- Assist in upkeep of all camp buildings.
- Assist in maintenance and repair of camp equipment, i.e. carts, tractor, mowers.
- Assist in the general upkeep of lawns. Mowing and weed-eating.
- Help in trash removal daily.
- Assist with set-up and/or equipment needs for program purposes.
- Take care of fire ring. Build fires and extinguish when necessary
- Attend Challenge Course Training. Help Facilitate the Challenge Course.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Will give directions and supervise temporary volunteer staff as well as summer staff for the season when directions are given out by the Camp Director. This may be on a daily basis.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
They will assist in creating a Christian atmosphere and support the infusion of Christian Outreach through the programming. Preferred 6 months related experience in a personal relationship with Christ and working with youth. This individual must be of good character, mature and able to uphold the Christian standards and ministries of The Salvation Army in all areas of job responsibilities.
Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training as established by The Salvation Army.
