Under the direct supervision of the WIC Program Director, the Supervising Dietician is responsible for the overall program operations, Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program and other special projects.
This is a full-time benefited position working 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday (may include periodic Saturday hours). The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills working with diverse populations.

Assists with the management and evaluation of personnel and staffing issues, including direct supervision of all WIC staff.
Coordinates food instrument security, shipments and reports.
Responsible for maintaining and completion of time sheets.
Responsible for appointment and class scheduling.
Responsible for ISIS and computer equipment maintenance and safety.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining caseload, outreach and coordinate with other program/ agencies to promote services.
Responsible for the Nutrition Services Plan and High Risk Criteria Program.
Oversees the implementation of the Nutrition component of the WIC Program, including nutrition assessments and subsequent education/counseling of pregnant, lactating, postpartum women; infants and children to 5 years of age. Provides direct service to clients (certification, assessment, counseling, education) as needed and handle hi-risk cases.
Oversees special projects including breast feeding, immunizations, etc. and will protect , promote, and support breastfeeding in a manner that is consistent with WIC regulations, policies and initiatives.
Performs other duties assigned by the Project Director.
Responsible for the completion for the WIC Nutritionist Assistant certificates.
Supervise office flow and staffing issues for site assigned.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership abilities sufficient to effectively direct WIC staff
Required bilingual (Spanish/English)
Knowledge of WIC program regulations
Knowledge of competence and experience in directly providing and supervising nutritional services
Able to meet or exceed the Service Excellence Standards of TVHC, Inc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Registered Dietitian (R.D.)
Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree, Masters preferred
Minimum of two (2) years WIC related experience preferred
Minimum of two (2) years experience in management/supervisory position
Certification as a Lactation Consultant preferred
Previous experience providing and supervising nutritional services
