This is accomplished through hiring, training, mentoring, leading and managing engineers\.# Job Description**Responsibilities:**+ Support the hiring of competent and qualified engineers to support the engineering projects and mfg\. process\.+ Identify direct report’s training needs and develop them to improve their capabilities and grow in ways that are beneficial to both the individual and the company\.+ Mentor engineers and engineering technicians on technical and process related issues\.+ Help engineers set their priorities based on the needs of the plant and projects\.+ Collaborate with the Production Manager in supporting any improvements to the processes and/or equipment, to ensure reliability at the highest possible levels\.+ Drive completion and success of engineering projects in assembly, packaging, or other engineering disciplines\.+ Coordinate and communicate engineering projects across departments and functional groups\.+ Lead and influence individuals that do not report to you\.+ Support the implementation of new processes and automation projects on the manufacturing floor\.+ Positively lead teams to initiate change and improvements\.+ Assist in selecting and defining projects, project budgets, and project timelines\.+ Provide input into the engineering and manufacturing department’s budgets\.+ Contribute new ideas, and find innovative methods to accomplish goals\.+ Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including HCRA Hazardous Waste regulations\.+ Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles\.+ Other duties as assigned\.**Supervision** : small team of 5 associates**Minimum Qualifications:**+ BS degree in an engineering related field\. \(Manufacturing/Mechanical preferred\)+ 6 years of broad experience in manufacturing engineering, machine design, industrial engineering, or project engineering\.+ Must be proficient in the use of personal computers: MS office, and Windows OS\.+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills\.+ Good interpersonal skills: conflict resolution, negotiation, and time management skills\.+ One to three years supervisory experience with engineers+ Familiarity with ISO 9000 standards**Additional and Preferred Skills and Qualifications**+ Proficiency in following applications: MS Project, MS Access, Lotus Notes, Power Point, MS Visio preferred\.+ cGMP familiarity 21 CFR part 820 preferred\.+ Medical device manufacturing experience preferred\.+ Experience developing manufacturing processes, writing procedures, and training assembly personnel preferred\.+ 6 Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred\.+ Validation Practitioner preferred\.+ CI Leader Trained preferred\.+ Completed BDU Management Courses is preferred\.Becton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer\.
