Sunday-Tuesday every other Saturday 5AM-5PM
The Supply Chain Specialist (SCS) receives all inbound pickups for our consolidation and 3PL customers. The SCS monitors and coordinates the movement of customer shipments through the ProTrans transportation network. The SCS ensures system integrity and shipment issues with necessary personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Schedule all pickups for assigned 3PL accounts in the appropriate Transportation Management System (TMS), shipment entry and coordination of all shipments
Manage data and application of different software and applications
Track and Trace: ensure customer shipments are running timely to meet the requested delivery date based on ProTrans agreed upon in route transit time
Ensure all shipments with system are confirmed for pickup and delivery- this is 24/7.
Coordinate shipment lockout authorizations and shipments off schedule with customers
Maintain a safe work environment
Identify and implement continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company.

- Expertise in multi-tasking
- Proficient with Microsoft Office System (including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint ®, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Outlook ®).
The SCS constantly interacts with public, good communication and problem-solving skills are a must. Verbal communication and listening skills are especially important. To communicate through e-mail, good typing, spelling, and writing skills are necessary. Basic to intermediate computer knowledge and good interpersonal skills also are important qualities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Reading and writing - is required.
The ability to apply statistical techniques to shipments and delivery data is required. Intermediate math skills are required.
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
This position requires employees in some locations to obtain a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification and Hazardous Material Certification. Employees will be informed during their orientation if they are in one of these locations requiring the above certifications

The position requires the physical ability to work on a computer for several hours at a time. In addition, employees in this position must be able to operate a forklift if required by location and to physically measure freight of various widths and heights.
