Performs assignedvariety of general housekeeping duties, transport duties, and other areas of Support Services. Must have high school education or equivalent with the ability to read, write and communicate routine information. Must be able to work reliably from written instructions.Up to one month to learn routine of Housekeeping department and hospital policies & practices. Must be trained in Code Green within 1 year of hire. Must have current and valid VT drivers license.
A.Light floor care including vacuuming, dust mopping, mopping and chariot floor machine in high impact first impression areas on a rounding basis. These areas include main lobby, main corridors on all floors, lower lobby and elevators.
B.Performs hard floor care which may include dust mopping, wet mopping, and auto scrubbing.
C.Performs carpet care vacuuming, extraction and spot cleaning.
D.Respond to sharps, bio or shredding requests as needed.
E.Removes, transports and packs ( after proper training) hazardous materials.
G.Assists in keeping the dirty linen room, mop room, break area, back storage area, and bio hazard rooms clean and organized.
H.Assist with exchanging and replenishing clean mops and rags as needed
I.Attend all mandatory EVS in services and meetings, weekly EVS meetings if required and all support staff meetings.
J.Completes and passes all annual competencies including departmental specific items,EOC, respiratory fit testing and flu shot compliance
K.Works as a customer service representative for CVMC when encountering patients, guests, and coworkers.
L.Properly trained in the use, cleaning and maintenance for all floor care equipment.
M.Completes all maintenance checklists. Reports defective, inoperable or damaged equipment to EVS Director
N.Monitors trash and recycling compactors and reports the need to exchange to EVS office in a timely manner.
O.Dirty linen collection, trash and recycling pick ups.
P.“Notifies direct supervisor of infractions of policy, procedure, laws and regulations as they are identified.Notifies supervisors manager of same issue if supervisor does not correct or receive issue within a reasonable time frame.Notifies Corporate Compliance Officer of any issues that continue to be unresolved.”
