Seeking dynamic Systems Administrator to serve as the Global Command and Control System (GCCS) for the 50th Space Communication Squadron (50 SCS) at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. May also require occasional travel to remote work sites located at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California; Peterson AFB, Air Force Academy, Buckley AFB, FE Warren AFB, Malmstrom AFB, Los Angeles AFB, Lackland AFB. This system operates on Red Hat Enterprise LINUX (RHEL) and Windows. The 4-person team operates all required computer systems. This position is for a system administrator who can also perform team-lead functions who ensures the proper configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems, software, and applications. The team performs training at other sites and ensures a compliant and functional Active Directory environment to include necessary trusts on secure networks. On call services after duty hours are as needed.
Ability to travel to other Air Force bases to implement and maintain GCCS images
Maintain DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) configuration requirements; ensure all router/switching devices within assigned responsibility meet DISA STIG requirements within timelines set by the 50 SCS by ensuring any STIG requirements that are not able to be met are mitigated to the securest level possible, as directed by 50 SCS leadership, within timelines set by the 50 SCS, 100% of the time. Ensure any STIG requirements that cannot be mitigated are properly documented within timelines set by the 50 SCS, resulting in a Program of Action and Milestones (POA&M) being written that is accepted by 50 SCS leadership 95% of the time on first draft; Monitor VMS compliance in both the GCCS and SDIN work centers to comply with all regulations and be prepared for successful performance on information assurance inspections and events.
Develop and maintain work-related documentation (checklists, work tickets, change requests, training material, project test results) following United States Air Force and 50 SCS-provided formats 100% of the time, ensuring 100% accuracy and meeting deadlines for each delivered item 97% of the time.
Attend meetings, to include engineering and configuration boards, as required
Provide technical support for project customers/partners of the 50 SCS; ensure project is approved by 50 SCS leadership and Task Lead; ensure support is provided professionally 100% of the time; ensure support is documented accurately and accomplished within deadlines 95% of the time
Acquire certifications as required by DoD Directive 8570 and the 50 SCS within 1 month of being assigned to this position and maintain 100% compliance throughout assignment by actively participating in the Continuing Education programs as required per certification
Accurately record hours worked in company time accounting system each day worked or as otherwise directed by Leadership, with 100% compliance and provide appropriate inputs to the Weekly and Monthly Activity Reports on time as directed by Task Lead and/or Team Lead, with 100% compliance
Education: • Bachelor’s Degree required- in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
REQUIRED & TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Active Top Secret Clearance Required (with SCI Eligibility)
IAT Level II Certification: CompTIA Security +CE, GSEC, SSCP or CCNA-Security 5- 7 years of experience of system administration experience with appropriate commercial Windows certification (i.e. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)) and RHEL training;
Demonstrated mission success in a DoD unclassified/classified networking environment.
