BAE Systems has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to support the Range Instrumentation Sensor Solutions business unit, headquartered in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
BAE Systems has over 40 years of experience in designing and manufacturing Instrumentation Radar Systems, Electro-Optical Systems, Test Range Asset Modernization and Upgrades.
Our capabilities include design, fabrication and integration of hardware and software to support a wide variety of test range requirements including RF and Electro Optical (EO) TSPI Instrumentation, Threat Simulators, CW Doppler and EO Behavioral Systems, Drop and No-Drop Bomb Scoring Systems, Telemetry Systems and Flight Termination Systems.
The technologies and resources of BAE Systems is dedicated to designing, manufacturing, integrating, and sustaining range products that are required for current test ranges and programs envisioned for future test ranges, aviation test facilities and launch facilities.
I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Contribute to contracted programs by performing advanced level systems engineering functions such as developing and managing systems level requirements, performing systems level integration/test and assisting in systems design and validation for Radar product line.
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties and responsibilities which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job. Incumbent(s) perform one or more of the following duties.)
- Performs one or more of the following systems engineering functions without appreciable direction:
a. Develops, allocates and manages complex system level requirements.
b. Prepares documentation for complex system designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures.
c. Performs complex portions of system/product integration.
d. Verifies and validate complex aspects of system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
e. Work directly with customer during design reviews, system integration, acceptance testing and while conducting system maintenance and operational training.
May support various specialty-engineering tasks; such as Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) analysis, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) analysis or programs, project Safety Engineering tasks,and Training Development for moderately complex portions of the system.
May support site operations and sustainment activities at customer locations.
Produces and/or review moderate to complex technical documents, specifications and standards.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Assignments defined by program management and customer requirements. Receives minimal supervision. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Minimum Qualifications is any of the following:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 8 year of related experience
Experience with system requirements development, analysis, design, integration, and verification.
Experience with documentation of complex system designs and architectures.
A thorough understanding of computer hardware and operating systems is highly desired.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security Clearance.
