Position Summary
Under Armour is looking for a Tax Accountant to join our Global Tax team. This individual will be responsible for tax general ledger reconciliations, personal property tax compliance, maintaining the tax fixed asset ledgers, assisting in audits, researching tax issues, and assisting in the US income tax return compliance process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
+ Prepare tax general ledgers account reconciliations
+ Responsible for property tax compliance and accounting functions:
+ Prepare and provide data timely for personal property tax filings to consultants
+ Oversee correspondence and review assessment notices for accuracy against tax estimates.
+ Participate in valuation and appeal discussions with UA’s Tax Director and property tax consultants for real and personal property tax
+ Ensure real and personal property tax bills are paid timely
+ Assist in the management of federal and state income tax depreciation books in SAP and reconciliation with GAAP fixed assets
+ Serve as a resource and maintain constructive working relationships with corporate accounting, corporate real estate, and IT teams for fixed asset issues and synergies
+ Prepare data for gross receipts tax filings and estimates.
+ Assist with the calculation and filings of federal and state extensions and estimated tax payments
+ Assist in preparation of data for federal, state and local income tax returns
+ Assist in corresponding with federal, state & local jurisdictions to resolve tax issues
+ Assist in preparing data request for income and property tax audits
+ Perform research and/or updates on new or proposed legislation, regulations and rulings in tax and related areas
+ Assist with various other tax related projects and initiatives
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
+ Strong fundamental accounting skills
+ Ability to perform large volume general ledger account reconciliations
+ Ability to analyze and organize data in an effective manner
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
+ Excellent attention to detail
+ The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong Communication skills. Able to express facts and ideas, listen effectively, and clarify information as needed
+ Flexible with change and able to shift gears quickly
Education And / Or Experience
+ BS degree in Accounting
+ 1-3 years of public accounting audit and/or tax experience or corporate tax department experience.
+ Experience in fixed asset including GAAP, federal and state depreciation book maintenance and apply tax depreciation rules is a plus
