Teacher/Caregivers are responsible for all components of quality in their Infant/Toddler Room. This will include working effectively with parents, maintaining positive staff relationships and development of age appropriate programs for young children under the age of 3. Job duties include the caring for all young children under the age of 3, according to the State of California Community Care Licensing guidelines and ensuring quality programming, safety, and understanding. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
Personal and Professional Behavior
Adhere to all FEOC personnel policies and procedures.
Assume responsibility for continued professional growth.

Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Early Childhood Programming
Plan and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate curriculum as per Early Head Start Performance Standards.
Develop age appropriate infant/toddler environments.
Provide a discrimination free environment that makes understanding, acceptance, and respect for all persons an integral part of daily programs.
Assist with screenings and assessments of the developmental level of each child and integrate this knowledge into the daily program.
Complete observations/assessments of each child as required by (Early) Head Start regulations.
Participate in ITERS (Infant Toddler Environmental Rating Scale) semi-annual evaluation.
Facilitate smooth transitions between activities.
Health, Safety, and Nutrition
Supervise children and staff at all times to maintain a safe environment according to Cal OSHA Guidelines (SB198) plan, Community Care Licensing and (Early)
Head Start Performance Standards.
Implement healthful practices within the classroom environment using universal health precautions.
Change diapers and assist with toileting on a regular basis.
Keep accurate emergency information and authorizations for all children.
Maintain first aid supplies in the classroom.
Maintain current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
Implement Center's plan for medical and disaster related emergencies according to SB 198 and State licensing regulations.
Communicate all family updates to the Site Supervisor/Center Director and other caregivers as needed.
Recognize the mandate to report suspected child abuse.
Working With Children, Families and the Community
Provide program policy information to families upon enrollment.
Treat all children and their families with respect.
Assist infants and toddlers to resolve conflicts by enforcing limits in a consistent manner and by helping children find the appropriate ways to deal with their feelings.
Keep parents informed regarding their child's progress on a regular basis through informal communication and formal conferencing.
Promote advocacy for children and families.
Demonstrate a professional attitude and appearance.
Encourage parent involvement in center activities, Local Parent Committee activities, etc.
Supporting Positive Staff Relations
Attend and participate in all required staff meetings, in-service trainings, and orientations.
Implement positive communication and problem solving skills.
Work cooperatively with other staff members, including the administrators of the program, accept supervision, and contribute to the effectiveness of the team.
Bring concerns/problems to the attention of the Site Coordinator in a timely manner.
Supervise and assist in evaluation of Assistant Teacher/Caregiver.
Obtain materials and supplies needed for instructional activities.
Maintain appropriate, current and accurate records.
Demonstrate familiarity with all Community Care Licensing requirements and (Early) Head Start Performance Standards to ensure that all procedures are followed to
meet or exceed the standards.
Maintain observations, screenings and assessments in each child's file.
Driving as needed to perform required job duties.
Complete tasks on schedule and demonstrate efficient use of time and materials.
Complete general housekeeping chores as needed.
