Technical Writer and Editor at Assurance Technology Corporation

Technical Writer and Editor needed at our facility located in Stafford, VA. This position requires that the candidate collaborate with fellow team members to identify, plan, coordinate, and develop and edit new documents and drawings using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, AutoCAD, Visio or other applications as required.  Applicant is required to design effective and efficient documents, from page layout and design, to graphics and style.  Apply knowledge of documentation content and format standards to prepare, edit, and publish technical materials.  Applicant will collaborate with technical professionals, customers, and management on documentation directives that will enhance overall project goals.  Applicant will work with system engineers/experts to research and obtain data on the new/modified systems being documented.

The Technical Editor develops, delivers and edits various types of technical documentation to include:  end user publications; system, subsystem, and equipment technical manuals; software manuals; standard operating procedures; test plans, procedures, and reports; facilities documentation; safety documentation; and data standards in accordance with the specifications, standards. Desired candidate will have an Associates or Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience; 5-7 years of equivalent experience can be supplemented. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a security clearance. An active TS clearance is required.
