Technology Lead - Mainframe
As a Technical Service Delivery Manager for Mainframe Team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with vendors, manage operations and make them accountable to provide necessary service & support to run Mainframe platform as per contractual agreements. You will be working with them on day to day incidents, changes and problem management on various towers such as DB2, CICS, Storage, zOS, zOS Network & Security and zOS Performance, review their SLA commitments and make sure the vendor provide necessary services as per SLA. Work with vendor on Projects, software upgrades, BAU tasks, make sure everything scheduled and performed within schedule. You will be a key resource to provide Customer Satisfaction Survey based on day to day operations work, making sure the vendor provides services as agreed. Also, you’ll have the opportunity to work with Mainframe Modernization and Relocation Strategy (MMARS) Teams to provide technical leadership and help them to modernize applications and move out of Mainframe platform. You will have the opportunity to learn and work latest technologies such as AWS/Cloud Infrastructure, AWS (Understand ELB’s, Webservers, application servers and RDS (oracle)), Chef, Jenkins, JSON, XML, Antifactory, API’s.
You are responsible for:
Manage vendors on their day to day services, project works, incidents, changes and problem management.
Work with them to take care of all software and hardware upgrades and make sure any/all services are not impacted due to any changes in our platform and environment.
You will be the technical lead during critical high severity incidents, you will lead teams to help triage incidents, find out the root causes and guide them to apply temporary and permanent fixes as needed from the platform side.
Also, work with application teams to identify and influence them to make necessary changes to run the platform efficiently.
Work with enterprise capacity management team, zOS performance team, and application teams to make sure any future workload adjustments are identified and accounts for future forecast/demands.
Review and make sure all audits and controls and remediations are documented and tested as per governance team requirements.
Review and act on all and any access requests and access certifications as per enterprise requirements.
Work with TOC Incident management and TOC PODS to address any MVS platform related questions/concerns.
Work with Vendor to understand the product roadmap and develop plans to incorporate the same within Capital One environment as per internal customer needs.
Baseline performance expectations, provide necessary reporting capabilities within the Tool (like dashboard, monitoring capabilities…etc.).
Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community.

At least 8 years experience with Mainframe (zOS) Infrastructure and Support
At least 8 years experience with mainframe storage and tape
At least 5 years experience with DB2 on zOS database level
8+ years of experience in DB2 on zOS at database level
10+ years of experience in zOS system
5+ years of experience with CICS
5+ years of experience mainframe capacity and performance
5+ years of experience managing vendor relationships
