|Job Description:||Description of Work:|
a. Provide technical support to Construction Manager and Resident Engineer to oversee
the contractor's work and ensure that work is begin performed as per contract
specifications and approved shop drawings.
b. Duties include project administration, quality and safety management as well as
preparing daily inspection reports, spreadsheets, other reports, analyses and memos
directed by Construction Manager or Resident Engineer.
c. Organize surveys and supervise the testing of communication
equipment under the management of the Resident Engineer/Construction Manager.
d. Organize project information, reports; process construction contract-related documents
and interact with other NYCT departments.
e. Working with Construction Manager in meeting project goals, attending project
coordination meetings with stakeholders, perform field inspections, testing and placing
systems in service.
|Education Requirement:||BS electrical engineering or related degree engineering/computer degree|
|Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:||Experience Requirements:|
Five years of experience in communications/electrical systems and related construction
Special Skillsffraining Requirements:
a. Knowledge ofNYCT's various communication systems, such as public address and
customer information displays systems, network, fiber optic equipment, security systems
or power plant systems, highly preferred.
b. Practical experience with testing equipment, fiber optic cables, as-built drawings,
installation practice and commissioning of communication/electrical systems.
c. Proficiency in the English language with the ability to clearly write and verbally
r. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
g. The Consultant shall become familiar with and follow NYCT Guidelines and
Procedures as applicable.
h. One day NYC Transit Track Safety Training Course is required prior to participating in
work on or near the wayside.
i. The Consultant shall provide safety shoes, at no cost to the NYCT, which must meet
NYCT guidelines and specification when participating in any activities located on the
Track or wayside.
J. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel
|Hours:||Hours of Work: 7:30am to 4:00pm|
No. of Paid .Hours Per Week: 40 Hours
(NYCT does not pay for lunch hours.)
Normal Work Week: Monday to Friday (including nights & weekends based on project needs)
