Brief Description Performs a variety of complex technical support tasks involving administration, support, maintenance and update of digital telephone/data systems, programming and placement of telephones, and moderately complex financial /technical tasks in a well-defined framework of policies and procedures. Enters, processes and distributes a variety of documents and records; maintains and reconciles data, funds or inventory; and interacts with employees to provide excellent customer service. Works within a defined framework of policies, procedures, instructions and guidelines under general supervision, and may provide administrative support of the technical department.
Detailed Description Receives, prepares, verifies and processes a variety of documents, equipment, records and other assigned tasks. Maintains inventory of telephones and related equipment. Maintains and updates telecommunications systems for data access, input, retrieval, inventory, installs, assignment and monitoring, etc. Adds/configures (VoIP & Analog) phones, assigns user capabilities/features and associates them with phones. Receives and prioritizes telephone system requests and issues such as password re-sets, user setup, equipment issues. Provides troubleshooting assistance. Performs technical installations and sets-up programming of VoIP telephones. Performs set and line-tests; programs gateways, re-establishes phone lines, configure voicemail accounts (general, dedicated, etc.) for users, and builds voicemail menu system. Maintains a variety of files and records and releases information according to the County’s policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality of records. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Graduation from an accredited high school/GED program. Four (4) years job related experience or 60 hours of college or a combination of the two. Experience in a customer service environment a plus. Working knowledge of VoIP systems. Knowledge of computer applications and standard word processing software. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, organize and process work and establish and maintain effective working relationships and excellent customer service with other County employees and the general public. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code. May require prolonged sitting, walking and/or standing and ability to lift files, boxes, and copies up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
