Our client, an Educational Non Profit located in Lower Manhattan, seeks to hire a Temporary Part Time Editorial Assistant for a six week project from March to the middle of April. The schedule will be 20 hours per week and is flexible. Duties will include evaluating information and filling out tables with information from materials, using a digital correlation tool to tag content in digital with standards data, reviewing and editing assessment content, updating assessment blueprints and creating answer keys, converting spreadsheets into user-facing documents that follow brand guidelines, performing review of audio files for literature passages, editing digital content in the digital platform including making corrections and adding standards correlations, communicating with content development team via email, shared documents and phone about project status. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Excel (sorting and filtering data, using conditional formatting, and simple formulas), able to markup pdf's and edit book files using standard industry conventions, able to learn new technology quickly, have strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills. It's a strong preference if you are a candidate with knowledge of basic book-making/publishing standards, conventions and terminology along with basic understanding of English Languages Arts learning standards such as Common Core. A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. Hourly rate is dependent on experience.
