The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority is accepting applications for the position of Temporary Part-Time Dispatcher. Duties include dispatching police, fire, and EMS over radio as well as coordinating all airport communications between different departments, airport tenants, and government agencies. Logging daily law enforcement, maintenance, and operational events. The position also involves managing the airport's access control system and monitoring the CCTV security surveillance system.
Applicant should have high school diploma or GED. Previous dispatch experience and bi-lingual skills are preferred. Applicant must be certified by the Alabama Department of Public Safety in National Crime Information Center (NCIC) operations prior to initial start of duties and maintain certification during work assignment. Applicant must be able to pass a criminal background investigation and be able to obtain and maintain an Airport issued ID badge. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which will include working all shifts, weekends, and holidays. Normal shifts are 4am-4pm and 4pm-4am, but may change and vary.
This position is part-time and a temporary assignment. There is not a guaranteed minimum number of hours per work week nor is there a guaranteed schedule. Assignment and schedule will be based on the needs of the organization.
