The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks seeks applicants for a bipartite (teaching and service) faculty position. Successful applicants will hold an MS or PhD degree in Mathematics or a closely related field, provide evidence of effective teaching experience, and be committed to undergraduate instruction. The position may be offered at either the Instructor (MS) or Term Assistant Professor (PhD) level, and is expected to be continuing. Teaching duties of 4+3 courses will span general education, service courses for engineering and science programs, and possibly more advanced undergraduate courses, with delivery in a mixture of on-campus and distance formats. Service includes an integral role in maintaining and developing curricula in these areas. On-line instructional experience is desired but not required. Successful candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere focused on improving student success.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
The position requires a master's degree in mathematics or a very closely related field (e.g., statistics) that includes advanced coursework in mathematics. The position requires successful experience teaching mathematics at the undergraduate level. Experience with both traditional (i.e., face-to-face lecture) and distance education (i.e., online) formats is preferred.
