This individual will be a technical support to Owner’s liquid bulk terminals in the Pasadena Area including associated tank, pipeline, rail, truck, and marine transportation assets. The primary focus of the position will be hydraulic analysis, design of system modifications, and equipment specifications. The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Technical Services and must possess the ability to work independently and effectively with others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineer and design piping systems for system upgrade or additions including piping, pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and associated equipment.
Develop computer models and perform hydraulic and surge evaluation of existing and proposed piping systems.
Understand and provide engineering support to product blending and mixing operations throughout the terminals.
Develop material and equipment bid packages with minimal direction from supervisor.
Review and assess existing operating and maintenance issues and provide recommendations for mitigation of the issues.
As a member to the Technical Services Group provide engineering support to all terminals within Gulf Area.
Concurrently manage multiple projects, tasks, etc. with various deadlines and responsibilities.
Review proposed engineering designs for operability, ability to maintain, and insure the design meets industry standards, Owner’s Engineering Design and Construction Standards, applicable regulations, and Owner’s Operations and Maintenance procedures.
Apply Owner’s design and operating philosophy to meet corporate goals for safety, regulatory compliance, efficiency and profitability.

Possess basic project management skills used in the development of project documents such as project scope, schedule, budget forecasting, cost analysis, and risk identification/mitigation and be capable of communicating this information using well-developed written and verbal skills.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineered drawings, such as P&IDs, piping, isometrics, structural, electrical, etc.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering design and construction standards and specification and operation and maintenance procedures.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or similar discipline.
5 years of experience as an engineer in liquid terminal or plant design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
Working knowledge of industry and regulatory codes and standards, such as 49CFR195, API, ASME, NACE, NFPA.
Hydraulic modeling using SPS or similar software.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the Company and its insurers.
Must possess, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
