Position Overview:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner performs the activities of an RCP in both therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness. The RCP must also be proficient in ABG sampling and analysis, and EKG performance.
Qualifications:
Licensures/Certifications:
+ Respiratory Care Practitioner - RCP required
+ Basic Life Support Certification - BLS required
+ Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - NRP required
+ Registered Respiratory Therapist - RRT preferred
Experience:
+ Prior clinical experience is preferred
Skills & Knowledge:
+ Ability to perform all aspects of both Respiratory Therapy and EKG procedures as outlined in the position description.
+ Ability to efficiently use and troubleshoot diverse equipment necessary for job performance.
+ Able to assess, evaluate, and treat patients based on age or other functional limitations.
+ Assumes personal responsibility for professional development.
+ Ability and confidence to work independently and act as a resource on behalf of the Cardio-Pulmonary Department.
+ Ability to perform patient assessment and develop goals and educational plan for appropriate patient care.
