Dafco Aerospace is an investment casting foundry the makes stainless steel, aluminum and nickel-based castings/parts for the Aerospace and Commercial Industries.
Hourly rate begins at 18$/hour, but may increase based on additional experience and proficiency.
We have two shifts available:
First Shift: 6am-2:30pm
Second Shift: 3pm-11:30pm
Welding of any of the following materials: aluminum, low alloy steel, stainless steel, nickel base alloys and vacuum melted alloys.
Typical Functions and areas of job knowledge and proficiency:
Weld components in flat & vertical positions.
Perform weld test plates in accordance with AWS D17.0.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding of internal fabrications.
Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials, and notify supervisor.
Monitor the burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
Collect welding information from process tracker.
Identify casting defects.
Mark castings that have the following defects: gas-holes, porosity, non-fills, cold shuts, and under-cuts.
Update jobs using the computer system.
Open or dig out any of the following defects: ceramic and slag inclusions, shrink, cracks or hot-tears.
Update information into daily log forms.
Keep traceability and inventory of all weld wire.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
Operate safety equipment, and use safe work habits.
Weld will need to get certified for welding specific alloys per customer specs.
Sometimes it will be necessary to help out in other areas as assigned, such as: grinding, straightening, sandblasting, cut-off, de-burring and knock-out; cleaning of castings.
