Penske has new Local and Regional driver positions supporting Ford

You will be part of a dedicated fleet supporting our customers
within the region. Routes are primarily throughout the Midwest. Currently
all drivers will domicile out of the Waukegan area.
The primary work assignment is no touch freight but there will be
additional work activities that could consist of touch freight. Drivers will be
dispatched with loads Monday through Saturday (this may vary based on the
business/customer need). All drivers will be home daily and/or weekly.
Route/Activity – Truck drivers are responsible for delivering
product to customers. 372-400 miles, min. of 6 stops (10 to 12 hour work days)
Shift - start time may vary depending on the business need
Equipment – Late
Compensation – Average of $1,300-$1,400 per week - $0.45 per
mile, $18.00/hr. per stop and $18.00/hr. for delays over 2 hours. Daily
guarantee of $250.00

-Safe and responsible operation of assigned equipment.
-Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws,
regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
-Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage
before and after route.
-Primary interface with the customer at point of delivery.
-At least 23 years of age
-CDL Class A license required
-2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience in the last 5 years
-3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations/accidents
-Reliable and customer oriented
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.

-The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
