**What We're Looking For** Under close supervision, assists assigned department(s) and/or project(s) by performing engineering-related tasks which may reflect elements of standard post-secondary engineering curriculum, usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis. Overview: Our **Seattle, WA** office is seeking a **Tunnel Engineering Intern** for **Summer 2020** to help us with a technically complex and the largest infrastructure project in the region! **Job Summary:** Under close supervision, assists assigned department(s) and/or project(s) by performing engineering-related tasks which may reflect elements of standard post-secondary engineering curriculum, usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis. On the job training will be provided. **Essential Responsibilities:** + Assists project teams in various tasks and duties. + Assists with research, development and design of projects. + Assists with the preparation of engineering drawings and documents as assigned. + Performs other duties as assigned. **Additional Responsibilities:** + Research existing geotechnical report, as-built drawings and data collection + Develop database of underground obstruction and geology + Prepare tunnel cross sections and profiles + Evaluate settlement impacts on utilities, buildings and other structures + Additional tunnel engineering assignments as required **Basic Qualifications:** + Current enrollment in an ABET accredited civil (structural or geotechnical), mining or related engineering degree program. + Completed junior year with coursework in tunnel, structural and/or geotechnical engineering + AutoCAD experience. **Preferred Qualifications/skills:** + EIT certificate + Previous internship experience on tunneling or urban infrastructure projects + Strong interest in tunneling and underground engineering This is a paid internship position.
