Essential Job Duties:
The Design Lab for K-12 Education at NC State College of Design is hiring a part-time (.6 FTE) Program Associate for K-12 design education programs. The Program Associate will be responsible for administrative tasks, business and financial tasks and marketing for all Design Lab programs. Job duties include facilitating program registration and payment processing, verifying and reporting program data, maintaining income and expense information and financial data, assisting with program supply requisition and inventory, staff hiring and payroll administrative tasks, data collection and analysis, facilitating program marketing, providing customer service to participants, parents and guardians. In addition, the Administrative Specialist will work with other Design Lab staff to help ensure programs run smoothly, from pre-program preparation to program delivery.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Departmental Required Skills:
• Database management and software experience • Strong customer service skills • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Google Docs, Adobe InDesign • Understanding of educational standards for quality programming • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills • Interest in design education for K-12 audiences • Strong math skills and ability to maintain budget and organize financial records
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
• HS diploma plus 2+ years of office experience or a equivalent combination of education and experience • Relevant non-profit, arts organization, or University program experience • Experience working with the Design Lab, College of Design, and/or NC State University

Design Lab Pre–College Programs address skill-building, creative problem solving, and self-efficacy, including Design Camp in the summer and after school courses for high school students in the Design Lab during the school year.
