High school diploma
Although a CDL is preferred, paid training will be provided for committed candidates
Able to pass a background check, including fingerprinting
Clean driving record
Able to pass a pre-employment physical and annual DOT physicals
Able to pass pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing
(Experienced, certified drivers preferred but all applications are welcome and will be reviewed)
Applicants will be required to transport students as directed; drive all busses in the fleet in a safe manner
Obey all local, state and federal laws and regulations for operating commercial motor vehicles
Follow all district and departmental policies, practices and procedures pertaining to the transportation of students in a school bus
Provide leadership for students on the bus and participate as a team player in all aspects of the transportation department’s operation
Position can lead to a permanent driver positions with paid sick, vacation and personal business time, plus medical, dental and vision benefits.
Regular hours will be 6:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. (Hours are subject to change depending on the daily assignment.)
The individual must be punctual and maintain a good attendance record. Because of the nature of the work, every job requires a spirit of cooperation with all others.
Specific details involved in the position will be discussed with the administrator during the interview and at the time of hiring for the position.
Wages and benefits will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Agreement between the Livonia Public Schools School District and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO Local 118, Council 25.
