TheVP and CAO of Live HealthSmart Alabama provides the leadership, oversight,innovation and direction necessary for successful implementation and completionof a complex, statewide initiative to improve the health rankings ofAlabamians. The scope and scale of activities managed by the VP AND CAOinclude overall leadership of LHSA activities including strategic planning,development of a management tracking system and milestones; alignment ofresources, community partners, fundraising activities and marketing strategieswith LHSA aims; development of new initiatives through collaborativepartnership formation with community, business and government/institutionalentities; as well as ensuring consistent program messaging, communications, andreporting activities.
Reportingto the LHSA Chairman Executive, under the oversight of the Executive LeadershipCommittee, the VP AND CAO is responsible for managing relationships with UABinstitutional leadership, all the UAB schools and the College of Arts andSciences, UAB Health System, Health Services Foundation (HSF), community andbusiness organizations in the state, and other affiliated partners. The VP AND CAO will monitor project expenditures,oversee compliance with the policies, procedures and regulations of theUniversity/affiliated organizations/external agencies to ensure an efficient,high-functioning infrastructure to support LHSA goals.
Required : Master's degree in businessadministration or similar degree and a minimum of five years of progressiveresponsibility at a managerial level, preferably in an academic or researchsetting
Effectiveleadership and organizational skills and extensive experience leading in theprocess of ongoing strategic planning
Provenability to manage and lead staff in a changing environment
Knowledge,experience and ability to manage complex information and organizational systems
Demonstratedability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff andstudents, as well as all levels of internal and external program constituents;experienced in the supervision of administrative and support staff personnel,as well as professional staff
Abilityto provide initiative, judgment and creativity in the resolution of complexproblems
Extensiveexperience in public speaking and public relations; exceptionalcommunication/presentation skills and a proven track record of formingcollaborative and effective working relationships with faculty, communitypartners, and staff at all levels of an organization
Abilityto establish realistic and achievable priorities, to lead staff to achievethose project objectives, and develop metrics to determine and report progressin achieving those goals
Successfultrack record of resource development, fundraising, and philanthropy in anacademic or non-profit setting
Anentrepreneurial spirit, preferably including experience developing andimplementing public-private partnerships to achieve community-wide social andeconomic goals
