Position Summary:Willamette University Theatre Department seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre: Lighting Designer/Production Supervisor for a one year, renewable contract. The Lighting Designer/Production Supervisor is responsible for designing four main stage productions; supervising the lighting & sound studio and stage management teams; teaching one course a semester in design & technology; and operating as production manager for Willamette University Theatre. Contractual obligations follow both the academic school year and a common theatrical production calendar.

Mediate between Director, Designers, and Heads of Departments.
Create, distribute, and maintain production budgets (with Theatre Manager & Chair).
Purchase materials and supplies for light and sound studios.
Maintain equipment for lighting and sound studios.
Work with technical director on maintaining equipment for scenic studio.
Support student and campus wide productions: dance concerts, individual department productions, the president’s office.
Hire students in the areas of production stage management, lighting studio, and sound studio.
Maintain payroll for lighting, sound, and production stage management.
Supervise and train:
- Production Stage Managers
- Stage Managers
- Student Lighting and Sound Designers
- Board Operators
- Run Crew
Support departmental production rules and regulations.
Teach courses/seminars in stage/production management.
Create and realize lighting designs for department productions.
Supervise and train:
- Lighting Supervisors
- Head Electrician
- Student Electrician
- Head Sound Engineer
- Sound Supervisors
- Sound Studio Technicians
Mentor and support (lighting director) for student lighting designers.
Mentor and support student sound designers.
Teach courses in the area of lighting and sound design.
