This position will be part of the senior management team with responsibility to drive and lead strategic technical process initiatives and manufacturing strategies within the Company Cheese USA Division.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide technical support to Business Development in developing new products.
Provide technical assessment of new acquisitions and the transfer of technology between businesses.
Validate new product and process opportunities while ensuring performance optimization.
Provide technical direction for process and product related Engineering projects.
Proactively support operations by identifying recipe optimization strategies and executing such.
Support Operations in developing and executing manufacturing budgets. Validate financial impacts related to recipe, product or process opportunities or changes.
Support Operations in preventing and correcting product performance concerns.
Act as technical support to Sales and customers in relation to opportunities and issues.
Act as technical support to Quality Assurance in relation to regulatory and commercial situations.
Establish internal structures to facilitate that plants are producing product consistent to expectations.
Ensure that internal capabilities are in place for chemical verification of Company and competitor products. Provide direction for appropriate testing protocols.
Provide Operation support for the calibration and validation of test equipment and procedures.
Deliver presentations for the President and senior sales leaders and other senior executives for a variety of meetings.
Act as technical leader with commercial and Intellectual Property legal matters.
Maintain strong relationships with key ingredient suppliers (i.e. culture manufacturers) to ensure SCUSA is current with best recipe options on the market.
Maintain strong relationships with key cheese and dairy universities to ensure that SCUSA is current in research and potential future technical opportunities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, Dairy Manufacturing, Chemistry or related field. MBA preferred.
Minimum of ten years of R&D and technical service experience in the cheese/dairy industry or business-related experience with dairy product development for consumer product industry and management of technical operations.
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to develop and lead teams to drive results.
Strong technical and financial acumen.
Strong understanding of commercial dynamics that drive business profitability and resource allocation to achieve optimum results.
Efficient in evaluation of cost-benefit analysis.
Ability to interpret technical information and in turn lead and guide projects in an efficient and disciplined manner.
Ability to collaborate and persuade across multiple functional areas to effectively build consensus upwards, downwards and laterally within the organization.
Proven track record of influencing senior executives to successfully lead change efforts.
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
Substantial computer skills. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are a must.
Ability to travel up to 50%.
