# Job Description SummaryCoordinate the expediting activities for outbound materials and outbound assemblies sent to other BD manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and end customers\. This includes scheduling shipping resources based on the scheduled delivery of raw materials, via KanBan and computer systems\. Expediting past due deliveries\. Pre\-expediting/confirmation future deliveries\. Provide logistics support for materials in\-transit to BD manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and end customers by working with various carriers and freight\-forwarders to monitor actual materials movements vs planned schedules\. Works closely with buyers, planners, quality, accounting, marketing, customer service, and other support groups for the purpose of shipping, warehousing, sterilization, and shipping raw materials and finished goods; to develop and execute strategies to continuously improve service levels and minimize transportation cost\. Work closely with receiving and shipping personnel to understand the receiving and shipping systems, which includes using computer, scanners, KanBan, and bar code systems\. Responsible for accurate entry into present computer systems on all logistic functions from Sandy to other distribution centers, outside pants and end\-users\. Assist supervisor in reviewing shipping, incoming material cost, to improve overall customer service levels and reduce shipping costs\. Train warehouse associates in receiving, warehouse, sterilization, and shipping functions as needed\. Assist in labeling and repackaging, when required for shipping out product\. Required to be Hazmat certified: Receiving and warehouse—basic hazmat training\. Shipping—D\.O\.T and IATA certified\. Forklift certified\. Work overtime as needed by the department\. Work flexible hours as business needs require\. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S, blitzes, Shift Start\-up, updating PVD boards, lean lite, KAS, etc\. Communicate in an effective, timely, and appropriate manner to all associates \(i\.e\. peers, support teams and management\) including escalating issues\. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations\.
