Essential FunctionsWe are currently seeking a part-time Warranty Claims Processor for our Hose Products Division. The position will be based out of our Service Center in Portland, Oregon. The individual in this role will serve as the primary contact for customer return and warranty issues. He/She will be responsible for resolving/processing warranty claims and maintaining our warranty database
Responsibilities• Receive and process warranty claims. Accept/reject warranty claims in customers online warranty database based on claim verbiage and/or inspection/testing of returned hose and tube assemblies. • Verify which claims in Online Warranty System are the responsibility of the Division; reject non-warrantable claims and reassign claims that belong to other Parker divisions to the correct division. • Maintain warranty claim records; analyze data and write summaries to validate or show deviations from standards. • Operate test equipment, including pressure testers, to determine failure mode of returned parts associated with warranty claims. Use calipers to measure crimp diameters to verify their compliance with specifications. Visually inspect hose/tube assemblies for signs of abuse or premature wear, rubbing, etc. which would contribute to part failure. • Establish and maintain successful relationships with internal departments allowing for timely and effective resolution of customer issues. Minimum Requirements: • Minimum of diploma or equivalent • 1-3 years of customer service experience • Ability to use manual or computerized systems for claims management • Demonstrated ability to use calipers, measuring tools, visual inspect product and operate test equipment • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment with strong Excel skills • Strong interpersonal skills and decision making abilities • Effective and professional communication and organizational skills • Willingness and ability to learn and adapt in a fast paced environment Additional consideration given to candidates who possess: • Associates degree (mechanical field preferred) • Preference given to candidates who possess a blend of in-person and remote (email, telephone) customer interactions in a fast paced environment • HVAC experience a plus
