Windows System Administrator (Night Shift): Coordinates the installation and maintenance of security patches, third party vendor software and hardware, maintenance and support, disk space management, backups and file restoration. Maintains availability of assigned services. Analyzes system problems and recommend solutions. Participates in the resolution of DeCA’s Enterprise Service Desk (DESD) issues by consulting with relevant subject matter experts. Coordinates and performs the restoration of files and troubleshooting of problems by interacting with information technology staff/vendors. Coordinates, documents, reports and implements Information Assurance and security efforts. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications for programs. Assists in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of new software and enhancements of existing applications. Designs, codes, tests, debug, and document those programs. Provides overall operating system support, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, large telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical/scientific software packages. Develops and deploys system architectures for applications, security, Backup, Archival and Restoral (BAR), and workload management. Manages accounts and access to systems and equipment. Manages systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability. Implements security procedures and tools. Develops and document systems administration standard operating procedures. Resolves hardware/software interface and interoperability problems. Maintains systems configuration. Manages the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements. Updates disaster recovery documentation. Monitors and analyze audit logs, report any irregularities. Maintains structure of rights for accounts and groups. Performs system back-up functions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as required. Maintains the functionality of Microsoft Windows and SUN Solaris / IBM AIX UNIX servers. Implements updates on server hardware and software. Troubleshoots and fixes hardware or software problems. Deploys IAVAs, patches, and updates and configuration changes to Operating System, web servers, applications servers, and approved application software, then remediates any issues with assets to ensure the updates have been consummated in the DCOE and datacenter. Creates, implements and maintains the Group Policy Objects settings in support of the Windows infrastructure and all Windows components required to maintain the DCOE, to include Windows Organizational Unit settings ensuring compliance with STIGs and DoD/Agency directives. Maintains and supports any and all key management servers for software licensing keys for Windows applications operating in the DCOE. Creates, designs, maintains, and updates the Windows Active Directory structures and elements to ensure an efficient operation of the Windows environment. Maintains and supports the DCOE Mobile computing environment ensuring the Agency meets all DoD requirements. Develops Windows packaging and scripting software for installation, including the design, creation, testing, troubleshooting and verification of the solutions as well as silent deployment process with zero touch/unattended installations. Works all tickets that are assigned based on priority and age of ticket.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. 5+ years of directly related experience supporting systems administration. Candidate must have Security+ certification and a professional certification in your specialty Windows.
No Security Clearance needed. Candidate must be able to pass a background check that will result in the issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC). This is full-time position, located in Fort Lee, VA.
